KG sports Acadamy In Flying Start To Delta State LAST TEAM Standing Scouting Tournament


KG Sports Academy Agbor kicked off its campaign in the Delta State Last Team Standing scouting tournament at Ogor Technical School ground Ughelli with an emphatic 3-1 win over Great Avengers of Warri.

Goals from Samuel, Desmond and Ibrahim was all Coach Adeyinka Ogundeji tutors side needed to book their ticket into the Semi finals of the Scouting tournament.

Samuel put the Pride of Agbor ahead in the 12th minute after firing home from the edge of the box however, 8 minutes later Great Advenger leveled scores to take the tie into the break 1-1 apiece.

KG Sports Academy came out of from the break with great intent and it would be seen that they wanted the win with their physical display and taking the game to the Great Avengers defense.

Desmond out paced his marker 10 minutes after the interval to fire home a low drive to put the Agbor boys ahead once again, Great Avenger pushed forward in search of the leveller but were met with a rock solid KG sports Defense marshalled by Sunday Akebo and against the run of play Avenger conceded a free kick at the edge of the box. Ibrahim Aminu stepped forward and his sublime free kick caught Great Avenger goalkeeper napping as it sailed into the top corner of the net to give the Agbor boys a 3-1 cushion and icing on the cake.

The win sends KG Sports Academy into the semi finals of the Scouting tournament to lock horns with Mighty Wonderers FC of Abraka.

Earlier in the day, Excellent Ughelli FC whitewashed Uriel Football Academy of Agbor 5-0 to book their ticket to face off with Igho FA of Sapele who defeated Vsionaries of Ogwashi uku 2-0.

The final Quarter final tie between Mighty Wonderers Abraka and Panvela FA ended 2-0 in favour of the Abraka boys.

The Tournament continues on Thursday with Excellent Football Academy Ughelli taking on Igho FC Sapele while Mighty wonderers will lock horns against KG Sports Academy Agbor.

The champion of the tournament will represent Delta State in the National Event that will take place in Lagos with a team of best 14 players also representing Delta State.
