An aide of Sydney 2000 Olympic Games 4x400m relay sensation, Enefiok Udo-Obong recently encouraged two students of Distinction Gate College (DGC), Ikotun, Lagos, with free training drills at NPA Sports Complex, Surulere, Sports247 reports.<\/p>\n

It turned out to be a day of huge exposure for the two lads \u2013 Benedict Oyetayo and Emeka Okoh \u2013 as Coach Dennis waived his normal fees collected for training per day, opting instead to encourage both SS2 students to continue attending his athletics academy.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, the outing came barely a month after Oyetayo and Okoh won gold medals when they represented their school at invitational relays in the inter-house sports competitions of two other institutions within the Ikotun-Ijegun axis of Lagos State.<\/p>\n

Their historic day at NPA Ground, along Bode Thomas Steeet, Surulere, was mostly enchanting for Oyetayo, who missed an earlier opportunity of being part of the school\u2019s delegation that particpated in this year\u2019s Athletics Classics at Yaba College of Technology and University of Lagos.<\/p>\n

Okoh was part of that delegation, which had six promising boys and five fast-paced girls from the esteemed academic institution fondly called DGC, located along Igando-Ikotun Road.<\/p>\n

Among DGC\u2019s male representatives at the high-profile track and field championship for students was their immediate past sports prefect, Henry Emmanuel, as well as Habeeb Kelani, Opemipo Ipadeola, Eze Prosper and Adam Buari.<\/p>\n

The girls\u2019 squad had three sisters \u2013 Esther, Favour and Blessing Godwin \u2013 as well as Igba Esther and Fathia Lawal; who all gave commendable accounts of themselves in their highly competitive various categories.<\/p>\n

Their school\u2019s proprietor, Mr Devi Gilbert Sisso (aka DG) affirmed that the sports committee is always in the lookout for opportunities through which their students could be further exposed with various sporting activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to put more effort into promoting athletics, football, basketball and table tennis in our school. That\u2019s because some of the students who might not be academically sound could end up being sports stars in future,\u201d he projected.<\/p>\n
