With a statement on their official website<\/a>, Arsenal have confirmed that England U17 international of Nigerian descent Ethan Nwaneri has signed a new contract with the club.<\/p>\n

The 17-year-old, an attacking midfielder and winger by trade, has committed his future to the Gunners by signing his first professional contract, a deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until at least the end of the 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n

Nwaneri joined Arsenal in May 2015, rising through the academy ranks to make his senior debut on September 18, 2022.<\/p>\n

Aged 15 years and 181 days, the Anglo-Nigerian became the youngest-ever player to feature in the top-flight of English football after coming off the bench in the closing minutes to replace\u00a0F\u00e1bio Vieira.<\/p>\n

Since his historic Premier League debut, he has received six more call ups for first team games and\u00a0appeared as a substitute during Arsenal’s 6-0 win against West Ham United in February 2024.<\/p>\n

Nwaneri\u00a0has impressed this campaign, registering seventeen goal involvements (14 goals, 3 assists) from fourteen appearances for Arsenal youth teams\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the international stage, he was a member of the Young Lions squad to the 2023 Fifa U17 World Cup, where he scored and assisted in England’s record 10-0 rout of New Caledonia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nwaneri played a key role as the Young Gunners reached the final of the FA Youth Cup last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
