{"id":6223,"date":"2024-03-07T13:31:12","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T12:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faca.com.ng\/web\/2024\/03\/07\/read_news-phpnid50711\/"},"modified":"2024-03-07T13:31:12","modified_gmt":"2024-03-07T12:31:12","slug":"read_news-phpnid50711","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faca.com.ng\/web\/2024\/03\/07\/read_news-phpnid50711\/","title":{"rendered":"Pundit insists Nwabali would be a good signing for QPR but blasts South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0DStv Premiership\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsbody\">\n<p>                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.allnigeriasoccer.com\/..\/football_pics\/49804Nwabali22.png\" height=\"240\" hspace=\"8\" vspace=\"8\" alt=\"Pundit insists Nwabali would be a good signing for QPR but blasts South Africa's\u00a0DStv Premiership\u00a0\" align=\"left\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Queens Park Rangers&#8217; fan pundit\u00a0Louis Moir reckons Stanley Nwabali would be a good signing for the Hoops amid speculation linking the Super Eagles goalkeeper with a transfer to the Championship club in the summer transfer window.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Hoops are scouring the market for a reliable goalkeeper as a possible replacement for experienced glovesman\u00a0Asmir Begovicwho is out of contract at the end of the season and have made enquiries\u00a0about the availability of Nwabali.<\/p>\n<p>Nwabali made a splash at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he kept four clean sheets, bettered only by Golden Gloves winner Ronwen Williams.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And those performances have not gone unnoticed by European and Asian teams with Queens Park Rangers and\u00a0Steven Gerrard&#8217;s Al-Ettifaq credited with an interest.<\/p>\n<p>Moir is of the opinion that Nwabali could be a top candidate for QPR&#8217;s goalkeeping position because he has international experience as he&#8217;s first choice for a top footballing nation, Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>However, he aimed a dig at South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0DStv Premiership, claiming the standard of football is not the best.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/footballleagueworld.co.uk\/it-could-be-an-exciting-one-qpr-in-transfer-battle-to-land-international-player\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Football League World<\/a>, Moir stated: &#8220;He plays out in South Africa, which is probably not the best level of football. Then again, keepers can adapt to different leagues and ways of playing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It would certainly be exciting, and one that I\u2019d welcome, so if it was to happen it would be an interesting move. Although he plays in the South African league, to be Nigeria\u2019s number one he has obviously got something about him.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He\u2019s also a decent age, arguably quite young for a keeper, so he has plenty of years ahead of him.
