In anticipation of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, embarked on their journey to Abidjan from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The players and officials, donned in vibrant African attires, displayed enthusiasm and confidence as they set off for the continental tournament.<\/p>\n

Having spent Tuesday night in Lagos following their return from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where they engaged in two friendly matches against local club Al Gharib and Guinea, the Super Eagles had a spirited send-forth dinner hosted by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s one-week training camp in Abu Dhabi aimed to fine-tune their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations competition.<\/p>\n

The friendly matches provided crucial match practice and an opportunity to assess the team\u2019s form and tactics.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s opening game in the tournament is against Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea, scheduled to take place at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Super Eagles are eager to make a strong start and leave an indelible mark in the prestigious competition, aiming for success under the leadership of coach Jose Peseiro.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
