Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has set the record straight regarding rumors circulating about his potential appointment as part of the backroom staff for the Nigerian national team ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n
Last week, Enyeama\u2019s comment on a Super Eagles post on social media sparked speculation about his involvement with the team, as he stated, \u201cLet\u2019s gooooo. See you in camp. Time for business.\u201d<\/p>\n
Many interpreted this as an indication that he had been appointed as part of the backroom staff, potentially as a goalkeeper trainer given the current absence of a top national team goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
However, Enyeama has clarified that there has been no official appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and no discussions in that regard.<\/p>\n
He explained that his comment was a personal expression of support, intending to visit the team during the AFCON and provide encouragement to the players.<\/p>\n
