Nigeria\u2019s Super Falcons have dropped two places in the world, while retaining top-spot in Africa, according to the final FIFA women\u2019s world ranking for 2023.<\/p>\n

Despite dropping two places from 32nd to 34th globally, the Falcons\u2019 impressive results in the Paris 2024 Olympic and WAFCON 2024 qualifiers against Ethiopia and Cape Verde contributed to their continued leadership on the continent.<\/p>\n

In the previous ranking released in August 2023, the Super Falcons experienced a significant climb from 40th to 32nd globally.<\/p>\n

The Super Falcons improvement on the ranking was primarily attributed to their outstanding performance at the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

Although the recent ranking saw Nigeria drop two places globally, their status as Africa\u2019s top women\u2019s football team remained unchallenged.<\/p>\n

The Super Falcons\u2019 remarkable achievements were further recognized when they received the Best Women\u2019s National Team award at the 2023 CAF Awards held on Monday, December 11, 2023 In Marrakeck, Morocco.<\/p>\n

Under the tutelage of stand-in coach, Justin Madugu, the Nigerian ladies are set to participate at the 2024 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations In Morocco.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, reigning women\u2019s world champions, Spain, achieved a historic milestone by securing the top spot in the year-end FIFA women\u2019s world ranking, marking the first time in their history.<\/p>\n

The United States, former FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup winners, claimed the second position, followed by France in third place. England maintained their fourth spot, while Sweden dropped to fifth place.<\/p>\n

The next FIFA women\u2019s world ranking is scheduled for release in March 2024, providing another opportunity for teams to showcase their progress and achievements on the global stage.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
