Nigeria-eligible winger Tyrique George was on the scoresheet for Chelsea’s development squad in their 2-1 win over Luton Town in a\u00a0 Premier League Cup match played at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
\nGeorge created the first big chance of the game but Deivid Washington deprived him of an assist as his shot failed to hit the target.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The first half ended in a barren draw with the young Blues having to rely on the defence line to keep the home side at bay.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
They finally opened the scoring in the 57th minute as Zain Silcott-Duberry’s shot beat the experienced Tim Krul who was in goal for the home side<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the 75th minute, George doubled the away side with a stunning strike from outside the penalty area which could only be prevented by exceptional goalkeeping.<\/p>\n
\nLuton Town almost turned the game on its head in the 82nd minute when Jack Batson turned the ball home from a corner kick to reduce the deficit but the away side held on to the lead.<\/p>\n

George has now scored 4 goals in the Premier League Cup this season and has also found the net in the U18 version of the competition.<\/p>\n
\nHe has been in laudable form since the start of the season particularly in the U18 Premier League where he has 4 goals and two assists in 5 games.<\/p>\n
