Super Falcons of stand-in coach, Justin Madugu\u00a0has tipped Nigeria women footballers,\u00a0 Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie to win their respective categories at the 2023 CAF award ceremony.<\/p>\n
The best football players, legends, administrators and countries in Africa will converge in Marareckh Morocco on December 11, for the 2023 CAF award ceremony.<\/p>\n
Nigeria\u2019s Asisat Oshoala is in the mix to defend her Best Women\u2019s footballer of the year crown while goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is nominated for the goalkeeper of the year award.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the ceremony, Super Falcons stand-in coach, Justin Madugu feels Oshoala and Nnadozie are clear favourites in their respective categories.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the CAF Awards 2023, I think Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie winning in their respective categories are done and dusted. I believe the two of them should be declared winners of the categories they are vying for. They have done well enough to scoop the awards,\u201d Madugu is quoted by Completesports.<\/p>\n
On the CAF Player of the Year category and National team which has Deborah Abiodun and the Super Falcons in contention,<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the Young Player of the Year award which Deborah Abiodun is vying for, she has done very well too because if you look at her progression within the last year, she has improved a lot but the other young players who are competing with her have also done well. She is the one player I feel might have a tougher challenge than the other two,\u201d the Adamawa-born tactician remarked.<\/p>\n
On the National Team of The Year (Women) category, Madugu said he was banking on the Super Falcons\u2019 impressive performance at the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s Cup in Australia and New Zealand where the team reached the Round of 16 but lost to England via penalties.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuper Falcons have always been there as the best, and if you consider our performance over the past year more especially at the World Cup. Yes, we didn\u2019t do well at the WAFCON but we still stand a good chance of winning the best women national team award,\u201d Madugu who assisted Randy Waldrum at the World Cup concluded.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
