Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest ace Taiwo Awoniyi has departed the side\u2019s Uyo camp after picking up an injury in the match against Lesotho\u2019s Crocodiles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nigeria started with Awoniyi pairing Victor Boniface up front against the minnows, but neither of them managed to find the back of the net.<\/span><\/p>\n

Awoniyi, in particular, was guilty of missing a gilt-edged chance that had been created by strike parter Boniface in the first half.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nottingham Forest man was replaced in the second half by Jose Peseiro, with Terem Moffi making an entrance into the pitch in his stead.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has now been revealed that Awoniyi, 26, has decided to return to England to take care of the groin injury that has afflicted him from his time with the national team.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Super Eagles will be without the former Union Berlin striker for their must-win match against Zimbabwe. Peseiro\u2019s options include Boniface, Moffi and Sadiq Umar, and the Portuguese manager must find a way for the Eagles to win.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following their draw against Lesotho in the opening Group match, the Super Eagles must now find a way to win all of their remaining group matches as only one team will make it out of the group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
