Gift Orban has been nominated for the Europa Conference League Player of the Week for matchday 4 played on Thursday night.<\/p>\n
\nThe 21-year-old bagged a perfect hat-trick – header, right foot, left foot-\u00a0 for Gent in their 3-2 win over Icelandic side Brei\u00f0ablik which has put the Buffalos in a good position to qualify for the knockout stage.<\/p>\n
\nIn his bid to win the award, Orban faces competition from Jason Svan\u00fe\u00f3rsson,\u00a0Dor Peretz and Faris Moumbagna who bagged two goals apiece for Brei\u00f0ablik, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bod\u00f8\/Glimt respectively.<\/p>\n
\nOrban’s latest hat-trick was his third in the Europa Conference League and has now scored 9 goals in nine games which is an average of a goal per game in the competition.<\/p>\n

After four rounds of games, the Nigerian striker is the joint top scorer in the competition this season with 4 goals.<\/p>\n

Orban netted his first goal in this season’s Europa Conference League against\u00a0Brei\u00f0ablik on October 26.<\/p>\n
\nHaving lost his place in the Gent starting XI, he will be hoping he has earned the trust of manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck to earn back his spot.<\/p>\n
