Victor Osimhen has been nominated alongside Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, Arsenal midfield stalwart Thomas Partey, Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and Tottenham Hotspur midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr for the CAF men’s Player of the Year award.<\/p>\n
\nThe other Premier League stars in the running for the prestigious accolade are Nottingham Forest’s Ibrahima Sangare and West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus.<\/p>\n
\nOsimhen has become one of the most prolific forwards in European football in the last twelve months, helping Napoli to their third Scudetto triumph and the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.<\/p>\n
\nThe Nigeria national teamer was nominated for the Ballon d’Or and finished in 8th position, the highest of all African Players nominated and the highest ever position attained by a Nigerian player in the history of the award.<\/p>\n
\nOsimhen will be seeking to become the first Nigerian to win the award since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.<\/p>\n
