Former Presidential Aide, Bashir Ahmad has expressed his displeasure over a post by cruise-loving Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface.<\/p>\n
The Bayer Leverkusen was on Thursday , October 26 handed his golden boot award for finishing as top-scorer in the UEFA Europa League for the 2022\/2023 season just before his team faced Qarabag at BayArena.<\/p>\n
After the match, Victor Boniface who is famous with cruise targeted posts on his X handle made a video of the award with the caption<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Boniface then posted a video (now-deleted) of the Golden Boot award on his X handle with the caption:\u201cAboki may think that it\u2019s an iron.\u201d<\/p>\n
That caption did not sit well with Bashir Ahmad who dragged the Nigeria Football Federation attention to the comment saying it was capable of causing disunity.<\/p>\n

@theNFF to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding recent comments made by Boniface a prominent player of our national team, the Super Eagles,\u201d the former aide wrote on his X.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis comment has the potential to promote disunity, which is contrary to the ideals that our nation holds dear. Nigeria, as a diverse and culturally rich country, has always celebrated unity in diversity.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur national sports teams, including the Super Eagles, have been a source of pride and unity for all Nigerians. These teams serve as a unifying force, transcending ethnic, religious, and regional differences. They bring us together and allow us to celebrate our shared love for the beautiful game.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cHowever, it is disheartening to witness a player of the Super Eagles making statements that appear to sow division or discord. We, as lovers of Nigerian unity, believe that unity and cohesion are essential for the success of our national teams. Therefore, it is crucial that we condemn any actions or remarks that may undermine this unity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI kindly request that the Nigeria Football Federation takes this matter seriously and addresses it appropriately.<\/p>\n

Boniface has scored 10 goals, made four assists in 12 games in all competitions for Leverkusen this season.<\/p>\n
The forward made his Super Eagles debut with an assist in their 6-0 win against S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Principe in September\u2019s 2023 AFCON qualifiers and is one player on top of Jose Peseiro\u2019s plans for next year\u2019s Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
