Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie has received his maiden invitation to join the Italian national team, ending any hopes of Nigeria capping the left-back.<\/p>\n

Udogie has enjoyed a brilliant start to life at Tottenham Hotspur under manager Ange Postecoglou, featuring in all of his side\u2019s matches so far. He joined Spurs from Serie A side Udinese last summer but spent a year on loan at the side to hone his talent before returning to Tottenham this summer.<\/p>\n

In an interview in the past Udogie revealed that he was Italian and did not for once feel like he was Nigerian, closing the door on a potential Super Eagles cap.<\/p>\n

Italy manager Luciano Spalletti has rewarded the youngster for his impressive form, handing him his first call-up for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
