Chelsea Academy Scholar of the Year for the 2022-2023 season, Somto Boniface scored his first-ever goal for the development squad in a six-goal thriller against Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League 2 encounter on Monday, October 2.<\/p>\n

Two England underage internationals of Nigerian descent were in action for Chelsea, with Boniface going the distance and Tyrique George entering the game as a substitute in the 70th minute.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Boniface netted his first goal for Chelsea U21s after logging 259 minutes spread across four matches comprising three in the Premier League 2 and one in the EFL Trophy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Capable of playing as a left-back and left wingback, Boniface joined Chelsea at U9 level and signed his first professional contract in March 2023.<\/p>\n
