Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been nominated for another prestigious award.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Napoli striker has been named in the 12-man nomination list for the Best FIFA Men’s Player award for his performance over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n
\nHe was named alongside Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice, Manchester City stars Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0Osimhen recorded 31 goals in all competitions for Napoli last season and also helped the Italian outfit scoop the league title.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was not only in form for his club,\u00a0 the former Lille forward finished as the top scorer in the just-concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers having scored 10 goals for Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\nThe 24-year-old is also in the running for the Ballon d’Or alongside 29 others.<\/p>\n
\nThe award was formally known as FIFA World Player of the Year\u00a0 and FIFA Ballon d’Or but has been called the Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year since 2016<\/p>\n

Other players listed\u00a0 for the\u00a0 award are seven-time winner Lionel Messi, Marcelo Brozovi\u0107,\u00a0 Kylian Mbappe and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.<\/p>\n
