The Nottingham Forest has been nominated for the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month<\/a> Award for August.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He is in the running along with Tottenham Hotspur\u00a0star\u00a0James Maddison, Ballon d’Or\u00a0nominee and Manchester City midfielder Rodri, Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, Brighton & Hove Albion\u00a0forward Kaoru Mitoma and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Awoniyi has registered three goals in the first three\u00a0Premier League games of the season including strikes against Manchester United and Arsenal.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The performance of the Nigeria international is a continuation of his excellent season-ending form from last campaign which saw him help Nottingham Forest escape relegation.<\/p>\n


\nHaving netted in his first three Premier League games this season, he has become the first Forest player to score in 7 consecutive league games and has equaled Mohamed Salah and Emmanuel Adebayor’s feat of an African player scoring in 7 consecutive games in the English top-flight.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has also been called to the Super Eagles squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifying game against S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe due to his brilliant form in the opening weeks of the Premier League.<\/p>\n
