Manchester United looked home and dry in their Premier League 2 meeting with Sunderland at the\u00a0Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground on Sunday afternoon as they had opened up a five-goal lead inside 47 minutes but threw away their lead in dramatic fashion with the game ending 5-5.<\/p>\n

After seeing a proposed loan departure from Manchester United not materialize\u00a0on transfer deadline day, England youth teamer of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire\u00a0brushed off the disappointment with an impressive individual display against the Black Cats, highlighted by the winger netting a brace and providing an assist.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Joining Shoretire in United’s starting lineup were two other teenagers of Nigerian descent in the shape of fullback Habeeb Ogunneye and defensive-minded midfielder Maxi Oyedele, who both went the distance.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Joe Hugill broke the deadlock inside the opening minute of the contest, Shoretire\u00a0doubled the advantage in the 15th minute, before\u00a0Hugill\u00a0and Shoretire grabbed their second of the game to give the young Red Devils a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Two minutes into the second half, Shoretire provided the assist for Manchester United’s fifth goal scored by Omari Forson.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
But there was a dramatic turn of events as Sunderland scored three goals in the space of four minutes through\u00a0Gardiner, Jones and Spellman\u00a0to reduce the deficit to 5-3 before the hour mark.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chiabi further reduced the arrears in the 72nd minute and Bennette completed the comeback when he leveled matters in the eighth minute of stoppage time.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shoretire has directly participated in six goals (2 goals, 4 assists) in four appearances for Manchester United U21s in the new season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
