After missing the World Cup, attacking Midfielder Ngozi Okobi has boasted that nobody can her in the current Super Falcons of Nigeria team.<\/p>\n
This follows her omission from the Super Falcons squad that bowed out at the round of 16 of the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n
While speaking on XSpaces, as interviewed by Osasu Obiayiuwana, 29-year old Ngozi Okobi bared her mind on her omission, the teams performance and whether she will represent Nigeria again.<\/p>\n
THE GAME VS CANADA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI couldn\u2019t watch the game live, because I felt very bad. It was very difficult for me, but when I saw the second game, it broke me because I thought I should have been there.\u201d<\/p>\n FELT BETTER TO WATCH THE GAME VS AUSTRALIA\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAfter the game against Australia, I felt okay, because the players didn\u2019t offend me. I have people I call best friends in this team, and I also have people who are looking up to me to advise them. So I had to keep watching so I can give feedback to these people and the younger girls.\u201d<\/p>\n NO REPLACEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThose are the kind of games I play (vs England) , and I play very well. The Super Falcons still need a player like me, we need creative players like me, and I have a talent that nobody else can replace right now and the Super Falcons lack that. Toni Payne did her best, and I told her that she did well, but she\u2019s not there yet. She\u2019s not at that level yet, but she\u2019s a very good player.\u201d<\/p>\n WHAT MOTIVATED THE SUPER FALCONS<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201d Money is what motivated the team, of course. I felt too bad because I wanted them to win. I wanted to be there. I felt like I was there physically, and I felt we should have done more than this.
