Former Glasgow Rangers defender Alan Hutton reckons that Fulham is a good destination for Super Eagles central defender Calvin Bassey.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Subject to the Nigerian passing a routine medical, the Cottagers will confirm the capture of the Leicester City academy product in the coming days.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brighton & Hove were also interested in signing Bassey\u00a0but Fulham\u00a0acted fast to get the deal over the line after reaching a club-to-club agreement with Ajax Amsterdam and convinced the player to agree personal terms.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bassey became the most\u00a0expensive Nigerian defender in history, overtaking Super Eagles legend Taribo West, when he moved to Ajax for a guaranteed fee of\u00a023 million euros.<\/p>\n

However, his transfer to the Amsterdam club did not work out as planned and he\u00a0lost his spot in the starting XI after the dismissal of\u00a0Alfred Schreuder – the manager that recommended his signing from Rangers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I thought Ajax would have been a good place for him to learn, it is very technical and I think that was the area of his game the he needed to brush up on,”\u00a0Hutton said to Football Insider<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Going somewhere like Fulham I think he would fit in no problem.
