Speaking at the press conference ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s friendly\u00a0against Lion City Sailors at the Singapore Festival of Football, manager\u00a0Ange Postecoglou\u00a0admitted that he was impressed with Italy U21 international of Nigerian descent, Destiny Udogie.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

After Udogie joined\u00a0Tottenham Hotspur last summer, a decision was made to loan him back to Udinese so he can experience more first team football.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The young defender has caught the eye with his performance in training and the friendly against West Ham United in which he scored twenty four minutes into his debut after coming off the bench.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although\u00a0Postecoglou\u00a0sees potential in Udogie, he has refused to make promises regarding him getting lots of game in the forthcoming season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Udogie is predominantly a left wing-back and with\u00a0Postecoglou\u00a0favoring a 4-3-3 formation, the Italian-Nigerian is not yet guaranteed\u00a0a spot in the starting lineup until he proves he’s also adept at the left-back role during pre-season preparations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In quotes relayed by Football.London<\/a>,\u00a0Postecoglou said: “I can’t foresee anybody’s game time right now, whether it’s Destiny or anyone else.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He’s done really well. He’s only a young guy. That’s the pleasing thing. We’ve got a number of young guys aged 20, 21 in the group who are adjusting really well.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old Udogie\u00a0could have made his full debut for Tottenham Hotspur in their friendly against Leicester City last weekend but the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.\u00a0<\/p>\n
