Growing Seed Children have been invited to the Inaugural Lagos Schools U13s Rugby Tournament to be hosted by Ibudo Academy at CMS Grammer School, Lagos on Wednesday 19 July starting at 10 am.<\/p>\n
Growing Seed Under 13\u2019s invitation was as a result of their starling performance at the last rugby tournament held at Grange School on 10th June in Ikeja, Lagos, where they beat Corona School Agbara by 15points \u2013 0 and Temple School by 10points \u2013 0.<\/p>\n
Growing Seed Director of Rugby Emeka Ukome will be leading the team from Ewulu, in Delta State to participate in this Inaugural Lagos Schools U13s 9-A-Side Rugby Tournament at Ibudo Academy<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Growing Seed Friends Foundation\u201d have a worthy aspiration. We dream the impossible and with God\u2019s help we can. Our purpose is to fight the inequalities of poverty as alternatives to the evils of corruption, violence, AIDs and unemployment.<\/p>\n
Given the opportunity, underprivileged children love team rugby. It is a dream that comes true to many aspiring and talented children. There is a caveat though. If, a child plays truant they are banned from participating in rugby, until they can demonstrate good progress at school.<\/p>\n
Growing Seed promotes education and works with local schools. We transform leaders to serve the community, through our life skills programme.<\/p>\n
Our immediate aspirations are to set up satellite communication and wind\/solar electrical battery storage for lectures on zoom.<\/p>\n
We are commissioning an architect to design a sports centre for our anticipated umbrella village rugby league programme.<\/p>\n
We also plan an organic research institute centre of excellence on 4 hectares of land at the Growing Seed organic farm at Ukome Farm, Ewulu. Here we pioneer and teach sustainable farming to combat climate change and where we grow and sell healthy, pest free produce with the potential of creating a bread basket of high quality organically certified produce for our future cooperative community export scheme.<\/p>\n
