Phoenix Boys FA Seek Consolidation After Placing Second At 2025 Addbrand Youth Cup
The under-13 boys’ squad at Phoenix Football Academy of Orile-Iganmu, Lagos has set an assertive target to consolidate on their recent second place finish in the glamorous Addbrand Youth Cup at Abalti Barracks near Ojuelegba.
Sports247 gathered as much from coach of the side, Shina Sheriff, who said they must quickly put the disappointment of losing the epic final behind them in order to end 2025 on a winning note.

He admitted that it was quite painful that the academy owned by Prince Ganiyu Adetunji also lost the girls’ final that was played simultaneously with that of the boys – as CATS Ladies FC won the female contest and Strong Dove FA took it from the males.
The former central defender at Femist Gandi FC of Ibadan, who joined the technical crew of Phoenix FA in 2013, said they will quickly overcome the setback, and then assured the team’s fans that his side will surely bounce back.
“We will return to the drawing board and step up our training at White Sand Field, Orile-Iganmu in order to get better results before the end of this year,” said Coach Shina.
The vibrant gaffer further told Sports247 that he is counting on his captain and highly promising defender, Abdulsalam Kolawole to marshal the squad towards a trophy in the coming days.
