Abalti Barracks’ Sports Director Lends Support To Kids At Tekkers FA


A staff sergeant at Abalti Military Barracks, near Ojuelegba in Surulere area of Lagos, is lending full support to a football academy that uses the army base’s refurbished arena as training ground.

Sports247 gathered that the military officer, who is identified simply as Kamarudeen (due to security reasons), is always ready to assist the team whenever they are in need, such that the players and coaching crew never have any cause to complain.

This much was disclosed by coach of the side, DaSilva Ejun Adedeji, a former player of Stationery Stores FC of Lagos, who is also the current handler of Okaka FC of Lekki in Nigeria’s third-tier Nationwide League One (NLO).

Coach DaSilva also thanked his assistant coach, Sunday Jackson, for working tirelessly in the technical crew of Tekkers and for his all-roubd efforts towrads propelling the squad’s kids into global limelight.

“We have been on this mission for three years, and we are waxing stronger with each passing day. I want to specially thank our able chairman for motivating us and my assistant for his hands of support.

“Through our joint efforts, we were able to win Obele Cup recently and we emerged as runners-up up twice in the annual Addbrand Youth Cup,” said DaSilva, who picked the team’s captain, Fatai Fuad as their most promising kid of the moment.
