Arsenal Kiddies FA Clinch Dr. Ogbolu Kids Cup Title in Style

Arsenal Kiddies Football Academy were crowned champions of the 6th edition of the Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu Kids Cup after a composed 2–0 victory over rivals Koller Football Academy in a thrilling final played at the A’ Division Police Playing Field.

Under a bright afternoon sun and in front of an enthusiastic crowd, the young talents from both academies delivered an entertaining contest that lived up to its billing, showcasing skill, discipline and passion emblematic of grassroots football development.

Arsenal Kiddies set the tone early, drawing confidence from the guidance of their coach, Soni Ahamioje, whose experience at the grassroots level proved decisive.

The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when striker Bolu Farusike rose highest to power home a fine header, sending the Arsenal Kiddies supporters into raptures and handing his side a 1–0 lead at the interval.

The second half saw Koller FA push forward in search of an equaliser, but Arsenal Kiddies remained compact at the back and clinical going forward.

Their dominance was sealed in the 40th minute when tournament Most Valuable Player, Ibikunle Kadiri, unleashed a perfectly timed volley to double the advantage and put the result beyond doubt.

At the final whistle, Arsenal Kiddies celebrated a well-earned triumph, having combined solid defending with sharp attacking play to outclass a determined Koller FA side.

The trophy was presented by the Chairman of Kwara State YSFON, Mallam Ademola Kiyesola, to team captain, Master Ogomide Ogunleye, as players and officials celebrated the championship success.

The annual kiddies football fiesta, now in its sixth edition, is sponsored by USA-based medical practitioner and philanthropist, Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, who commended both finalists for their commitment and sportsmanship.

He described all participants as winners and urged the young players to remain focused on both their football ambitions and education.

Arsenal Kiddies Football Academy’s victory once again highlighted the importance of structured grassroots competitions in nurturing the next generation of Nigerian football talent, reinforcing the tournament’s growing reputation as a platform for future stars.
