European Scouts Storm Edo as FA Strengthens Pathways for Young Football Talent

The Edo State Football Association has intensified its drive toward global football development as it hosted a delegation of European scouts currently in the state for talent discovery and youth-focused initiatives.

The scouts—from Italy, Poland, and Latvia—were led to the FA Secretariat in Benin City by the Chairman of the Ovia North-East Football Council, Mr. Roland Inonoje, who paid a courtesy visit to the FA Chairman, Mr. Newton Fred Erhunwunse.

Their visit comes on the heels of the ongoing Hyper Game Management 4-Day Football Scouting Program at the University of Benin Main Bowl Complex, a project that has attracted a remarkable turnout of grassroots players aiming to impress and secure opportunities abroad.

FA Chairman Erhunwunse applauded Mr. Roland and the visiting scouts for investing their expertise in Edo’s football ecosystem, stressing that the Association remains committed to supporting initiatives that expand opportunities for young players to build professional careers within and outside Nigeria.

As part of their activities, the scouts also observed Bendel Insurance FC during their training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium—an engagement that further exposed them to the state’s football culture, talent level, and professional structures.

With the continued collaboration between local football authorities and international partners, Edo State FA reaffirmed its vision of positioning the state as a leading hub of football excellence, talent development, and global opportunities for young athletes.
