Foreign Scouts Endure ‘Much Heat’ To Spot Nigerian Talents At Legacy Pitch

Several European football scouts endured what one of them referred to as ‘much heat’ at Legacy Pitch of Lagos National Stadium, Surulere, in order to spot young Nigerian footballers in the thick of action.

Sports247 was present live on Wednesday, as the foreign scouts, managers and agents paid rapt attention to four matches that took place on Day-3 of this year’s Supremacy Cup, which is organised annually by Hajj Gafar Olawale Liameed, the chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA).

Liameed, who is also the owner of former Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) campaigners, 36 Lion FC of Lagos, has made it a part of his responsibility in the promotion of youth football to give young talents chances of taking their careers to top clubs in Europe through the competition on an annual basis.

Among the scouts in attendance at Supremacy Cup 2025 is Tonas Syrovatka, a youth football guru from Slovan Liberec FC of Czech Republic, who appeared to be very captivated and excited by the flow of action on the astro-turf surface of Legacy Pitch.

He gave accolades to all the players and their coaches for putting in the best of their efforts despite the burning sun, which defied an initial early hint of rainfall during the third match of the day.

Syrovatka told Sports247 in a chat during half time of the last game, “I love the way they are playing and how well they are organised, but the heat is much. In my country, it will now be nine degrees.”
