Oriyomi Football Academy’s Simone Victor Creates Sparks At Awo Cup 2025
Sparks of excitement were literally set off at the ongoing Awo Youth Cup in Ogijo, Ogun State, as a youngster, Simone Victor gave a marvellous personal show that helped his side avoid defeat in the glamorous competition.
Sports247 gathered that Oriyomi Football Academy were on the verge of losing their game against Rehoboth FC until Simone’s individual show yielded a crucial equaliser for his team.

Media officer of the competition, Ralph Esene told Sports247 that, though the match eventually ended in a 1-1 draw, the kid’s performance and goal deservedly earned him the encounter’s best player’s prize.
He stated, “Simone was a torn in the flesh of Rehoboth players, as he never stopped going past them with ease. He ran into them like a hot knife melting butter all through the match.
“The deafening moment came when Simone scored a wonder goal to tie the scoreline at 1-1, and that was the final score of the highly exciting game. He was subsequently presented with a framed award to confirm him as man of the match.”
Esene further disclosed that the competition, which is in its third edition and sponsored by a Belgium-based former grassroots player, Emmanuel Olakunle Awosanmi, continues this weekend at Ogijo Community School.
