Green Lock FC has launched its football academy in Lagos, introducing a model that combines professional football training with formal education to give young players the opportunity to excel both on and off the pitch.
The Academy, which features FIFA-standard training pitches, a gym and recovery centre, digital classrooms, and hostel accommodation, aims to develop players who are successful in football while also advancing in academics.

Head of Operations at Green Lock FC/Academy, Omowunmi Blessing Awe, described the initiative as a “perfect blend” of sports and education, assuring parents that the welfare and safety of players remain a top priority.

“We are ready to welcome players into a secure environment where they can grow as footballers and as students. Our goal is to prepare them for success in both fields,” she said.
The Academy forms part of Green Lock FC’s strategy to provide Nigerian youths with structured pathways into professional football while equipping them with the education needed for broader life opportunities.
The club, which competes in the Nationwide League One, has opened registration for interested players, with trials set to begin in phases across Lagos.
