2025 FC Bayern Youth Cup Nigeria: Behold the Final Standings as Ablaze FA Emerge as Champions


Ablaze Football Academy has emerged champions of the 7th edition of the FC Bayern Youth Cup Nigeria after a dramatic finale against Inspire Sports Academy of Lagos, Sports247 reports.

The final, held at Inspire Pitch, NITEL Field in Oshodi, Lagos on Saturday saw both teams battle to a goalless draw in regulation time.

However, Ablaze FA held their nerve in the penalty shootout, edging out Inspire SA 4-3 to clinch the prestigious title.

The tournament, which featured 12 U16 teams from across Nigeria, took place over two days — June 20 and 21, 2025.

It served as a scouting platform for young talent under the watchful eyes of Bayern Munich’s Head of International Youth Programs, Lars Weichert, and Bayern legend Diego Contento.

In the third-place match, Shuffle Football Academy defeated Select FA 2-0 to claim bronze.

Shuffle FA had earlier lost a tightly contested semi-final to Ablaze FA on penalties, falling short despite a resilient performance.

Below is the final standings of all 12 participating teams at the end of the tournament is as follows:

1. Ablaze FA – Champions

2. Inspire SA – Runner-up

3. Shuffle FA – Third Place

4. Select FA – Fourth

5. Alpha FA – Joint Fifth

6. Beta FA – Joint Fifth

7. Dan Alkali FA – Sixth

8. FC Bako – Eighth

9. Rangers Int’l – Ninth

10. Femi Gbaja FA – Tenth

11. TFA Squad – Eleventh

12. Utmost FA – Twelfth

The event concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony for players and coaches, presided over by Lars Weichert and Diego Contento, underscoring Bayern Munich’s continued commitment to youth development in Nigeria.

The victory marks a remarkable return to glory for Ablaze FA, who were the inaugural champions of the tournament, reaffirming their status as a breeding ground for footballing talent in the country
