Manchester United schoolboy of Nigerian descent on trial at Leeds United 

Manchester United schoolboy of Nigerian descent, Majid Balogun is being linked with a surprise move to Leeds United. 

According to Caughtoffside citing LUFC Youth, Leeds United have taken teenage forwards Mason Cotcher and Majid Balogun on trial as the Championship outfit look to strengthen their academy. 

Balogun made a bit of history when he joined Manchester United’s Academy in 2022 as he became the first player from grassroots club Lambeth Tigers to join the red half of Manchester.

The Anglo-Nigerian also became the second player in the club’s history to join directly from grassroots from the South of England.

Balogun shone as Manchester United won the prestigious Albert Phelan Cup in 2022, scoring in the showpiece against Aston Villa.

It is thought he is open to representing the Nigerian youth teams considering the fact that he follows the Super Eagles on social media. 

If the talented striker signs on the dotted line for Leeds United, he would link up with Nigerian central defender James Debayo who plays for their development squad. 

Leeds United are 21st in the Premier League 2 table with 11 points from twelve matches.
