U18s Complete 542km Bike Ride In Memory Of Pete McCormack

Colchester United U18 players and staff took part in a cycling challenge that saw them cover 542.8km on a stationary bike – the highest total distance ran by an U18 player during the 2022-23 season.
The youngsters were raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Pete McCormack who lost his fight against cancer in June.

Pete was a lifelong U’s supporter and attended games along with his wife Deanne and son Liam for many seasons.
On top of that, having previously worked for Essex Police he became the club’s Safeguarding & Welfare Officer, until he sadly passed away earlier this year.
To honour Pete and raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support, the youngsters alongside members of the academy staff set off to David Lloyd just next to the JobServe Community Stadium to undertake the challenge.
