West Ham talent spotters watched Bournemouth striker Solanke on Saturday

West Ham United posted scouts to run the rule over 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup Golden Ball winner of Nigerian descent, Dominic Solanke on Saturday.

According to Football Insider, West Ham scouts assessed the Bournemouth striker against Tottenham Hotspur, a game in which the number 9 went the distance for the third consecutive match in the new season.

The Hammers’ talent spotters also observed him at close quarters during the Cherries’ 3-1 defeat to his former club Liverpool last Saturday.

West Ham have brought in Edson Álvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos this summer and want to complete a deal for a striker ahead of the close of the transfer window, following the sale of Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta.

The current Europa Conference League holders face competition for the signature of Solanke, with Fulham also credited with an interest in the Anglo-Nigerian forward,

West Ham have already firmed up the interest in Solanke by submitting a £35-40million bid for the Chelsea academy product.

The 25-year-old has tallied 57 goals and registered 28 assists in 177 appearances for Bournemouth since moving to the south coast club from Liverpool in January 2019.

Solanke signed a fresh contract with Bournemouth last August, a deal that will keep him at the Vitality Stadium until June 2026.
