Ethan Nwaneri’s future at Arsenal has been thrown into serious doubt ahead of the forthcoming season.

The England U17 international of Nigerian descent wrote his name into the history books as the youngest-ever player to feature in the Premier League when he made his senior debut at Brentford on September 18, 2022 aged 15 years and 181 days, beating the record held by Harvey Elliott.

Nwaneri has been offered a scholarship by Arsenal but has yet to put pen to paper, fueling speculation that a departure from the Emirates Stadium is imminent, with his schoolboy contract expiring on June 30, 2023.

According to The Athletic UK, Chelsea are competing with Manchester City for the services of the Hale End Academy product.

The report added that Manchester United are also in the hunt for the attacking midfielder.

Nwaneri has played nonstop at Arsenal since the age of nine, and made his competitive debut for the U18s at the age of fourteen.

He was involved in every single game played by the Young Lions last month during the European U17 Championship.
